St. Bernard versus Renault 2 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 3
This actually happened to me. I am a 77 year old grandma, but when I was younger and had children we also had a horse or two for them to ride. The rule was that they be home before dark as horses do not have headlights.
One evening my husband took my larger car to carry his musical equipment for a gig leaving me his little Renault. There was a youngster out on a horse and it was getting dark. I was unfamiliar with the Renault, but managed to find the keyhole and light switch among the many little sticks coming out of the steering column.
I pulled out onto the street which was a rather steep uphill drive and a neighbor's Saint Bernard loped out and sat down in front of the Renault. It was amusing, looking eye to eye at the dog through the windshield of the car, but I was on a mission so began hunting for the horn to shoo him away. I can't remember whether I succeeded in finding the horn in that mass of sticks on the steering column, or whether he finally just loped off, but the memory stuck with me all these year and I think you're just the ones to illustrate it!
If you've already used this idea I would love an autographed copy of it for the memoirs I am presently writing. My address is 221 E Silver Bugle Dr., Camp Verde, AZ 86322 phone: 928-567-9539
Thanks for your consideration. Alice Casey
